So, Maureen Johnson is having us do this “coverflip" thing, where you take the cover of a well-known book, and you redesign it imagining that the author is the opposite gender and that it follows the unspoken gender rules of book covers.

The Book Thief is really by Markus Zusak, a man, but in my redesign it is by a girl being marketed towards girl readers (because we all know women can only write for women, right?). So it follows the “girl-books-must-have-picture-of-girl-on-cover-so-the-reader-can’t-create-their-own-idea-of-what-the-character-looks-like” rule.

(and yes that is prim from hunger games)
